I consider myself to be diplomatic, which has helped me as a storyteller.
To be diplomatic, you must be a great listener and effectively move the conversation along.
This helps me to produce strong interviews through real connection. It helps me ask questions that allow my subject to open up, and it helps me to support their quotes with other relevant details.
Journalism has helped fuel my passion to connect with people, helping me to not only learn more about my city, but to start asking questions.
I am a positive person who likes to build up my peers and colleagues. I don't believe in taking my own slice of the pie, I feel the pie is big enough for everyone around me to have a slice, if they choose.
I work hard for the company who employs me. I embrace responsibility as the face of my employer wherever I go, and I've never left them disappointed in my professionalism.
I know the word "journey" is cliche to most, but that's how I would define my ride so far. Learning under current and former industry professionals at Red River's Creative Communications program, I've developed a wide range of skills that have elevated my storytelling.
Working with me, you can expect a respectful, hardworking communicator who doesn't take a day in this industry for granted. I embrace the responsibility that comes with storytelling, and I know that great stories are easy to come by.
All you have to do, is listen.
